The ferocious attacks on the Dalit people in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere in India have to be combated with full vigour. Dalit people are denied the right to life, decent living and human dignity. Day by day, atrocities on them are increasing without abatement. They have to face murder, rape, arson, violent physical attacks and humiliations of the worst kind. After the advent of the BJP government at the Centre, atrocities have increased, especially in the northern states. They have to be combated with full vigour. – P. Sampath |
